Royal-Enfield 700 Super Meteor - 1957 Frame number: 7T.4974 Engine number: SMP 4123 Odometer reading: 5575 km. 697cc 4-stroke twin-cylinder engine with tumble valves, 4 speeds. As Triumph gained market share with its desirable 650 Thunderbird from 1950 onwards, the Redditch-based company was obliged to respond with a larger displacement. It proposed a large 700cc twin based on the engine architecture of the 350 Bullet. The result was an accessible, high-performance touring machine capable of reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h, with a "Super Meteor" version available from 1956. Preserved in its original paint, sold by Troyen agent R.Enfroy. Lelaurain shock absorbers. Engine not blocked, to be restarted. French registration, first registration date 08/06/1957. Following a period of standstill, the bikes, mopeds, scooters and motorcycles in this collection are to be restored or put back into service before use, and sold without a technical inspection. Boisseau - Pomez does not guarantee the possibility of obtaining a new registration certificate for the lot concerned.
