ENGLAND - JACQUES I March 24, 1603 - March 27, 1625 His bust crowned and cuirassed right, holding a sceptre fleurdelisé. R/. Crowned coat of arms. On either side, I-R. James Stuart was born on June 19, 1566 at Edinburgh Castle and died on March 27, 1625 at Theobalds House. He was King of Scotland as James VI from July 24, 1567, and King of England and Ireland as James I from March 24, 1603. Until his death, James Stuart reigned in personal union over the three kingdoms, which nevertheless retained their independence and their own institutions.
