R/. + DE - LA - 3 - PTE DE - MRE N - DE - BAILLEVI -PRESIDT - AV - PARLEL - 1628. Nave sailing right. Above, fleurs-de-lis. Engraver: Pierre Régnier. ♦ Mazerolle 493; TNG XXXVIII,3 Silver medal dated 1628 from the 3rd provostry of Nicolas de Bailleul. (17.0 g Ø 38 mm). Flan retouched. Hole filled. T.B. Nicolas de Bailleul. Baron de Château-Gontier, Seigneur de Vatelot, de Soisy, member of the Paris Parlement in 1608, maître des requêtes in 1616, ambassador to Switzerland, then president of the Grand Conseil. He was then Provost of Paris from 1622 to 1628. He died on August 20, 1662. He had married Louise de Fortis. This medal alludes to the laying of the foundation stone for the new Collège de Clermont.
