The king seated on a curule chair covered with drapery and placed under a canopy with fleur-de-lys drapery topped with a lily. He holds a sceptre. R/. XPC VINCIT XPC REGNAT XPC IMPERAT. Four-lobed, foliate, fleurdelisé cross within a trefoiled quatrefoil cantoned by four coronets. ♦ Fr 266; Dy 251 Gold flag (June 8, 1339). (5,08 g) Broad flan. Traces of claws. A very fine example.
