Two French and two Navarre shields crowned and arranged in a cross cantoned by four lilies. Workshop letter in the center. Strung edge. ♦ Fr 450; Dy 1630 Double-louis d'or de Noailles 1716 A = Paris (12.23 g) Very slight traces of rolling on reverse. Scratches on the obverse. Very fine. Noailles, name of the Marshal, President of the Finance Council, who decided to strike it in 1717. Adrien Maurice de Noailles, comte d'Ayen, 3rd duc de Noailles (1708), marquis de Montclar, comte de La Motte-Tilly et de Nogent-le-Roi, vicomte de Carlux, born September 22, 1678, died June 24, 1766, was a French officer, elevated to the dignity of maréchal de France in 1734.
