Important document concerning François I's ransom after the Treaty of Madrid, which put an end to the King's imprisonment following the disaster of Pavia. Francis I was informed "of the good and honest responce that you and other gentilzhommes dicelluy pais dangoulmois have faicte on the aid par moy demande a la noblesse de mon Royaume for the payment of my ransom and delivrance of my enffans". He thanks them warmly...
