XVI-220, VIII-168-42 pp. 32 pp.unencrypted. -Volume I: 53 chromolithographed plates + masthead, name sheet, ornamental sheet, 4 pp. "Souvenirs de Famille", portrait of Pius IX, 2nd masthead, 3rd masthead, title, sheet "Office de la Ste Vierge" and 4 chapter sheets entirely chromolithographed. -Volume II: 5 plates H.T. in chromolithography and 17 titles also in chromolithography, 1 figure drawn by F. Fossey engraved by Colin and printed on Chine. At the end of the preface, a portrait of a woman by Pauquet printed on Chine. Bound in full blue morocco, ribbed spine, gilt edges, gilt lace inside. (Binding signed Gruel). Identical binding for the second volume, but in half morocco with corners. The entire work is mitered. Vicaire III-766. Limited edition of 550 copies. Volume 1 contains reproductions of Jean Foucquet's miniatures. Volume 2 contains a biography of Foucquet, a description of the works, a description of the miniatures reproduced in Volume 1, and a note on Foucquet's presumed works,....
