JOHN CURTIS, London N° 2804 Mid 18th century. Double-cased gold watch with repoussé decoration and stingray-covered outer case. Smooth gold inner case, double case with repoussé decoration depicting a mythological scene, outer case sheathed in stingray. White enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, railroad minute track. Movement with key winding, verge escapement, fusée and chain, Continental-style chased and openworked cock, signed and numbered. Watch diameter: 38.5 mm.
