Unmarked blackened silver souvenir locket pendant (low-title silver) in silver-plated metal centered on a tinted lapis lazuli plaque supporting 3 pendants. The surround is punctuated with imitation stones and pearls and a few garnets. Chips and bumps. Height: 73mm. PB : 21.3g From the 18th to the 19th century, reliquary jewelry was not only reserved for the church or between spouses or even lovers. Mothers kept mementos of their children (locks of hair, pieces of cloth, portraits), which they secretly stored inside medallions, brooches, rings or bracelets.
