In the longer letter, Gyp tells Léon Treich about two unjustly forgotten books by Montesquiou. In the shorter one, she asks: "You would please your old colleague Gyp so much, Monsieur, if you would agree not to announce him with the ladies. I had once chosen a masculine pseudonym - the name of David Coperfield's dog..." (!)
