German - Classicist coving frame
Wood, gilded and with stucco elements, with rising profile. (Around 1820/40). Inside running foliage on the picture light, the central strip with pearl cord. Channeled throat with oak leaf ornamentation in the corners, the outer strip with a leaf rod (?). Clear dimensions: 35 x 44.2 cm. Slat width: 8 cm. Outer dimensions: 50.7 x 60 cm.
Gilding rubbed in places and with tiny black spots. Cracks in the corners. Minor bumps, a small chip in one corner.
Frame and gilding slightly rubbed. Individual tiny scratches and knocks, occasional barely noticeable white paint splashes.
