Hans Sebald Beham (1500 Nuremberg - Frankfurt/Main 1550) - The genius with the alphabet Copperplate engraving on laid paper. (1542). 4.5 x 8 cm (sheet size). Bartsch XIII, 215, no. 229; Pauli 233 II (of III); Hollstein 233 II (of III). Excellent, finely drawing, partly burr-like impression of the second state, with the second vertical line layer in the cast shadow of the ribbon falling to the right of the Y and Z on the other part of the ribbon. With a fine margin around the framing line. - Barely visible tiny stains on the verso, otherwise in very good condition. Provenance: Luciana Simonetti (1917-2003), Rome, stamped on verso (Lugt 3616).Taxation: taxed by difference plus 7% (VAT: Margin Scheme (non EU))ne ony lots.
