La Jeunesse d'Estienne Pasquier. Et sa suite. Paris, Jean Petit-Pas, 1610. 4 parts in a large in-8 volume, black morocco, triple gilt fillet, gilt coat of arms in center, spine decorated with repeated numeral, lining and endpapers in chocolate brown moire, smooth edges (Honegger). Partly original collective edition, published by the author himself at the age of 81, under the pseudonym André du Chesne. Divided into four parts, it contains virtually all the writer's literary output, often corrected and expanded. It includes the two Monophile books, the four Colloques d'amour, the 24 Lettres amoureuses, the Jeux poétiques, and the two occasional collections La Puce and La Main. Fine copper-engraved portrait of the author by Thomas de Leu. The copy belonged to Frédéric Lachèvre (1957, no. 377) and appeared in the Berès bookshop catalog Des Valois à Henri IV (no. 261). Formerly in 19th-century green half-chagrin, it has since been bound for the collector with his coat of arms (argent à la bande d'azur chargée de trois cœurs d'or), which is modelled on that of De Thou. Mottling at the head of several quires. J. P. Barbier-Mueller, IV-4, n°47. - Lachèvre, Recueils collectifs de poésies, 1597-1700, I, p. 270. - Viollet-le-Duc, pp. 369-370. - Diane Barbier-Mueller, Inventaire..., n°591.
