First edition of the first book of La Sagesse, divided into 14 considerations and dealing with the means of reaching the perfect state of living well, remedying afflictions, embracing constancy, and finding complete contentment according to the divine institution. La Muse céleste, a collection of spiritual songs and paraphrases of the psalms, ending with a short didactic poem in six songs entitled De l'âme et de ses excellences, had first appeared ten years earlier in Appréhensions spirituelles...
