Thuringia around 1520 St. Dorothea Limewood, carved three-quarters round, flattened and hollowed out on the back. Probably largely original paint, some parts have been painted over. Front view of the figure of the crowned saint standing in a contrapposto, with a basket in her hands as a characteristic attribute. The design of the high-quality sculpture is determined by the execution of the gilded cloak, which, worn over a floor-length gown, shows striking web folds and a striking bowl fold motif. Only minor wear. Height 57 cm. Provenance Franconian private collection.
