Sebastiaan Vrancx The return from the market Oil on wood. 45.5 x 66.5 cm. Provenance Belgian private collection. The present landscape painting is probably an early work by Sebastian Vrancx. Little is known about the artist's early period. According to Joost Vander Auwera, the figures are clearly by Vrancx. It is possible that the work was created before 1608 (written communication dated 8.11.2023). The painting has many beautiful details that indicate the master's later style. Vrancx became known above all for his battle and month paintings.
