HERMES Paris - Jacques LENFANT for Atelier Georges LENFANT, "Frégate" model, 1960s Rare semi-rigid necklace in 750 thousandths yellow gold composed of two twill-weave meshes joined by stylized mooring knots and twisted ropes. Hook clasp concealed in one of the knots. Signed "HERMES PARIS" and numbered "56660". French work, diamond-shaped hallmark of Atelier Georges LENFANT. Neck size: 42cm. Mesh width: 0.9cm. This much rarer "Frégate" model draws its inspiration from the world of the navy - dear to the Maison Hermès - and is referenced in Jacques Lenfant's "Le Livre de la Chaîne" under the example of the bracelet (Editions Scriptar SA, 1996, p. 134).
