Tabatière with chinoiserie Colored and white enamel on copper, relief gilding, light blue contreé enamel inside, gilded copper mounting. Angular casket shape. The exterior decorated on all sides with pairs of figures and birds on flowers, some in camaie painting, separated by gold scrolls in relief. Restored cracks in the contreémail, gold wear to corners and edges. H 3.5, W 7.9, D 6 cm. Attributed to England, late 18th century. Provenance Private collection Lower Rhine.
