Description
An excellent pair of vases with a powder blue ground in a French Louis XV ormolu mount Porcelain, powder blue ground, inglaze painting in white and some iron red, with black contours. Baluster-shaped. The front decorated with auspicious symbols from the Hundred Treasures, including a ruyi sceptre, a bat, scroll paintings, peonies and vases on a powder blue ground. Fire-gilt bronze mounting, consisting of an openwork rocaille base with flower pendants, S-shaped leaf handles raised at the sides and split at the top, a flower and leaf border in relief around the lip rim.
