Description
Chinese pot in a French Louis XIV ormolu mount Porcelain, cobalt blue underglaze decoration. Circumferential band with lotus blossom decoration, below stylized leaf tendrils alternating with insects. Fire-gilt bronze mount, consisting of two gadrooned profile strips around the foot and lip rim, connected by hinges with openwork, finely chased and punched tendrils on the sides, mascarons in relief under the hinged arms. Fire cracks, closed hole in the base. H 15 cm. Kangxi (1662 - 1722), the mount Paris, circa 1710 - 15th century. Literature On the mount see Wilson, Mounted Oriental Porcelain in the J.
