Tea caddy with Watteau-style painting Porcelain, colored overglaze decoration, gilding. Angular model. Two pairs and two single figures (pilgrims) on landscape islands, finely painted in three-color camaieum painting. The shoulder framed by gold lace, woodcut flowers at the top. The painted base with blue swords mark, brown 6, wheel number 28. H 10.2 cm. Replaced slip lid of partially gilded silver. Meissen, around 1740 - 50. Provenance Westphalian private collection, acquired in 1969 from Adolf Meyer, Hamburg.
