Rare tobacco pot and lid with six cartridges
Porcelain, sea green (celadon) ground, colored overglaze decoration, black contoured gilding. Six-cup model. Finely painted landscapes and merchant scenes in the reserves. Blue swords mark. The base slightly soiled due to firing, restored branch handle. H 17.5, diameter 15 cm.
Meissen, around 1745.
Provenance
Presumably in the Electoral Bavarian Collections of the Wittelsbach family since the 18th century, through marriage in the princely collection of Sayn-Wittgenstein, Rottach-Egern, deceased at the beginning of the 20th century.
