Magdeburg coffee pot
Silver. A pear-shaped body on an oval foot with a console spout and wooden handle; the high domed hinged lid with a sculpted floral branch finial. The wall and the lid with rich, chased and chased rocaille and flower decoration. Dot-engraved monogram "SDP" on the underside above the date 1786. marks: BZ Magdeburg, soldering stamp 12, MZ Johann Tobias Langenbeck (mentioned from 1738, cf. Scheffler Mitteldeutschland no. 356, 363b, 386). H 28 cm, weight 744 g.
