Louis XVI gold tabatiere à trois couleurs 14 ct gold. Rectangular shape with chamfered corners. The surfaces decorated on all sides with a guilloché stripe and ornamental pattern, the rims decorated all around with chased friezes of bow festoons and leaf borders in three-tone gold on a chased ground, the corners of the walls with wreaths and flower rosettes. Stamped: Unidentified Swiss MZ (J & R?), French control mark for foreign gold and silver (import), valid 1798 -1830 (Tardy, 139). One edge on the reverse with an elongated hole, probably caused by the manufacture. 2.0 x 8.3 x 2.5 cm. Weight 77.70 g. Switzerland, late 18th/early 19th century.
