Description
(1581). XENOPHON. OPERA. (Geneva), Henri Estienne, 1581. 2 parts of [12]-584-76 pages, marbled calf, ornate ribbed spine, red edges, (18th century binding). This second edition is far superior to the first of 1561, as the text, entirely composed in Greek, is purified and follows Henri Estienne's Latin annotations. A second part in Latin is sometimes appended to the volume, but is absent here. (see Renouard). Repairs to corner of title and folio 229. Ex-libris M. Tinseau de Saint Ylie (label on spine and title.
