Unique edition illustrated with 59 FIGURES ON WOOD by Pierre Cruche (coins, medals, tombstones, chariot races and a scene of ritual preparation of a corpse). In addition, this curious volume contains 30 pages entitled "Des terres descouvertes de nostre temps ausquelles on a donné le nom de Nouveau Monde et d'Indes Occidentales ou Amérique". The simultaneous use of Roman, italic and cursive typefaces (the dedication is printed in civil type), as well as large and small ornate letters, make this a typographic success.
