Small in-4° of 52 leaves, fawn calf on wood, set of cold fillets on the boards, spine with 3 nerves (Josse Schavye, handwritten signature). This new edition of Holbein's Bible Figures contains 98 FIGURES, 6 more than the 1538 edition; the 4 Evangelist figures on the verso of the penultimate leaf appear here for the first time. There are two different editions of this work. This one, with its highly inked proofs, belongs to the second edition, with the word Emendatiores in the title unhyphenated. A quatrain by Gilles Corrozet in French is placed under each figure, and a commentary in Latin occupies the top of each page.
