Lugduni Batavorum, Ex officina Christophori Plantini, 1584; in-4 (32x20.5 cm), contemporary limp vellum (first blank endpaper missing). Title illustrated with a vignette depicting the province of Holland in the form of a young woman holding a coat of arms with a lion, the heraldic symbol of the Counts of Holland. (4) ff, 127 pp, 31 pp (title page torn but not missing, marginal worm gallery at tail crossing 60 pages, foxing in margins, threads distended). Complete work, with 34 full-length portraits (numbered 35) of Dutch princes and princesses, engraved by Philippe Galle. These were used in Michel Vosmeer's "Principes Hollandiae et Zelendiae domini Frisiae, Anvers Plantin. 1578", which included 36 portraits.
