(1529). BOURDIGNE (Jehan de). HYSTOIRE AGREGATIVE DES ANNALES ET CRONICQUES D'ANJOU... Paris, Antoine Cousteau, 1529-30 In gothic folio of [4]197 (mal chiffr. 207)-[1] leaves, brown calf, spine ribbed, red edges (18th century binding). First edition of this rare chronicle. The title, printed in red and black, is framed by Galliot du Pré, whose large mark is on the last leaf. The text, embellished with fine lettering and framed in black fillet, features a large woodcut depicting the author offering his book to Louise de Savoie, mother of François 1er, surrounded by prelates and barons in the manner of the compositions attributed to Pérréal; a smaller one shows the reconstruction of Angers. Very fine Gothic edition printed "Pour honnestes personnes Charles de Boigne et Clément Alexandre marchands libraires demeurant à Angiers". Copy with privilege dated December 3, 1529. Interior condition with good margins, hinges cracked, restoration to boards. Duplicate with British Museum sale stamp, dated 1787. (Rothschild III, 2340) (USTC 7467) (Brun, le livre ill. p. 163).
