(1520). PATRIZI (Francesco). DE INSTITUTIONES REIPUBLICAE LIBRI NOVEM Paris, Pierre Vidoue for Galliot du Pré, September 10, 1520. In-folio of [16]-141 leaves, stamped brown calf on beveled wooden boards. Beautiful book procured by Jean Savigny and illustrated with 9 LARGE WOODWORKS VERY INTERESTING FOR THE STUDY OF MEARS at the beginning of the XVI° century. The first depicts a king in the middle of his court, the second students in front of an armillary sphere and men playing dice and cards, the next nobles on horseback, then a family at table, a funeral, a hunter, craftsmen, sculptors, blacksmiths, shoemakers, bears, rabbits, wolves, lions... 2 woods are repeated. A few damaged leaves, but overall good condition. Modern binding to which the original stamped boards have been glued. (Brunet IV, 440) (USTC, 145030).
