(1500). TEDESCHI (Nicolas). LECTURA SUPER TERTIA PARTE LIBRO DECRETALIUM. (Lyon, Nicolas Benedict, not after 1500?). Gothic folio in 2 parts of 126 and 210 leaves, brown calf, ribbed spine (period binding). Third part (of 7 published) of the enormous sum of canon law by Nicolas Tedeschi, better known as Panormitanus of Catania in Sicily, with additions by Barthélémy de Bellencinis. His knowledge of canon law earned him the nickname Lucerna Juris. He died in Palermo in 1445. A very well preserved copy, magnificently printed on 2 columns and with all the large letters beautifully gouached in red or blue. The title of the first part is missing, and there is no indication of place, date or printing; it is profusely annotated in the margins. Binding rubbed.
