Serge Poliakoff (1900 Moscow - Paris 1969), Composition bleue, jaune et grise. Light browning to margins, surface faintly rubbed in places. Handling creases and crease marks, some with minimal loss of color in the image. Margins with small losses and tears as well as traces of old mounting. Otherwise fine. This color lithograph by Picasso was used in 1960 as a cover illustration for the magazine "Ces Peintres Nos Amis" (vol. II) by Gilberte Duclaud, published by Galerie 65 in Cannes. It is based on the lithograph of the same name from 1956, which in turn appeared as the frontispiece of the publication "Dans l'atelier de Picasso" by Jaime Sabartés (cf. Bloch 794 and Goeppert/Cramer 88). For this cover illustration, Picasso reworked the early version and added numerous colors. Cf. Mourlot 279; Bloch 794; Goeppert/Cramer 88 (lithograph from 1956).
