Emil Orlik (1870 Prague - Berlin 1932), Mountain landscape. This landscape was probably created in the late summer of 1903, which Emil Orlik spent with friends in Alt Aussee as a guest of Dr. Wilhelm Mercy, the owner of the "Prager Tageblatt". - Firmly framed in studio molding. Soiled surface, partially slightly rubbed and with fine craquelure. Minor retouches, tiny losses of color and small scratches in the paint layer. Small closed canvas glaze in the sky, somewhat larger canvas backing in the area of the small tree. Image edges slightly rubbed. Otherwise in good overall condition. Schiefler/Mosel/Urban 86 II (of II). Oil on canvas. 1903. ca. 80 x 80 cm. Signed and dated lower right. Provenance: Private ownership, Lower Saxony; Private property, Southern Germany, through succession to the present owners. Taxation: Differential taxation (VAT: Margin Scheme).
