Emil Nolde (1867 Nolde - Seebüll 1956), Woman with dark hair. Minimally browned in the mat cut, minor faint stains and slight studio marks. Slight handling creases and with occasional crease marks. Sheet edges slightly bumped. Verso with old mounting tapes and label remnants, these slightly pressing through to recto. Overall in good condition. Depicted is Eva Bang, the artist's niece. A watercolor portrait of her is in the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen. Schiefler/Mosel/Urban 228. Etching with colored aquatint on buff wove paper. (1907). Approx. 30.5 x 23.5 cm (sheet size approx. 59.5 x 44 cm). Inscribed "Emil Nolde" and titled "Frau, dunkel" by Ada Nolde in the lower margin of the sheet. Signature of the printer Otto Felsing in the lower left plate margin. Taxation: taxed by difference plus 7% (VAT: Margin Scheme).
