TWO TANTRIC PAINTINGS OF THE GODDESSES KALI AND CHHINNAMASTA Kangra, Pahari school, North India, mid-19th century Pigments on wasli paper wasli, depicting Kali standing over the body of Shiva, both on a funeral pyre in a landscape filled with bones and scavengers; and the goddess Chhinnamasta standing over the embracing bodies of Krishna and Radha, holding in her hands her severed head and a dagger, each in blue and pink margins.
