Model 1845 infantry warrant officer's saber. Horn handle with filigree. Copper-plated brass mounting, chased, openwork hilt with foliage decoration. Curved blade with hollow sides, gutter and flat back engraved "Manufacture nationale d'armes de Châtellerault Xbre 1915 Adj d'Infrie Mle 1845." Sheet metal scabbard with one strap. Carved top with vegetal and rosette motifs. The arch ends in a rolled quillon. Slightly curved white blade with hollowed edge and flat back with gutter near the back, unmarked. Natural buffalo tie. Steel scabbard with two suspension rings, with stained gray patina. 88 cm (Blade 73 cm). (Fairly good condition).
