General DE GAULLE DE GAULLE EN BRETAGNE - Set of 2 menus relating to General de Gaulle's visit to Brittany in July 1947. - Menu for the meal offered on the occasion of General de Gaulle's visit to VANNES on July 26, 1947, cardboard folded in three (8 x 19.5 cm folded), tricolor cover, arms of the city, menu with wine list, closed with a knotted tricolor ribbon, slight foxing. Reception hosted by Restaurant Chauchet, Hôtel de Bretagne, Vannes. - Menu for the lunch offered on the occasion of General de Gaulle's visit to PONTIVY on July 27, 1947 at the Hôtel des voyageurs, 4 pp. (8 x 16 cm), cover with gilded geometric figures. Enclosed are a letter of invitation on the letterhead of the town of Pontivy, the text of the speech given by General de Gaulle in RENNES on July 27, 1947 (12 ff.) and a photo of the General. During his visit to Pontivy, De Gaulle inaugurated two commemorative plaques in memory of the victims of the 1939-1945 war.
