Large clock, In gilt bronze, depicting the abduction of Europa on a patinated bronze bull. The Rocaille-shaped base with foliage decoration features a nymph, a love, scrolls and reeds. Enameled dial signed "Jolly à Paris", showing hours in Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals. Railroad. Winding holes at IV and VIII o'clock. Wire mechanism. 19th century, after the famous model by Jean Joseph Saint-Germain (1719-1791), Maître fondeur in 1748. 57 x 45 x 20 cm Saint Germain's 18th-century model is in the Friz William Museum, Cambridge (M.205-1912).
