Carl Faber, "Abendsonne" What is probably a Swabian village with half-timbered houses and an old castle complex in a hilly landscape on a warm summer evening, Impressionist painting with virtuoso contouring, which makes the evening light falling into the valley perceptible and thus develops a very special, warm radiance, oil on cardboard, 1st half 20th cent, signed "K Faber" lower right, annotations to artist and title on the reverse, retouching, in an attractive, hand-silvered frame, folding dimensions approx. 51.5 x 70 cm. Artist information: Carl Faber, German painter (Schwäbisch Gmünd 1885 - Munich 1962), studied at the Kunsthochschule in Stuttgart and at the Fachschule für Textilindustrie in Barmen, 1910-12 with H.
