Alfred Traugott Mörstedt, "Ein Sommer im Garten" geometric composition, watercolour etching with beautiful plate tone on laid paper, monogrammed and dated "ATM [2]004" in lead below the image and titled "Ein Sommer im Garten" in the lower centre of the image, probably owner's annotation "Dr. Beleg" in the lower left corner, image dimensions approx. 14 x 22.5 cm, sheet dimensions approx. 26 x 35.5 cm. Artist information: German painter, draughtsman, graphic artist and book designer (1925 Erfurt - 2005 Erfurt), son of an artist, from 1943 soldier in World War 2, 1945 severely wounded. From 1943 soldier in the Second World War, severely wounded in 1945, 1947-48 attended the Master School of Applied Arts in Erfurt, from 1948 studied at the Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts in Weimar under Otto Herbig and Hermann Kirchberger, transferred to the Academy of Fine and Applied Arts Berlin-Weißensee, from 1952 worked as a commercial artist in Erfurt, worked as a designer for the Vogtland textile industry from 1954, freelance since 1960, member of the "Erfurt studio community" from 1964-74, from 1976 the artist was under observation by the GDR's state security organisation, awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1998, established the Alfred T.
