Otmar Alt, "Bräutigam" colourful depiction of a tomcat in a suit, from the series "Braut und Bräutigam", colour screenprint on enamel, 1991, signed "O. Alt" lower left in the print, on the reverse label of Edition Hüppe with various details, here also numbered "299/500" and signed by hand "O. Alt", in aluminium frame, panel dimensions approx. 63 x 48 cm. Artist information: German painter, graphic artist, illustrator, sculptor and porcelain painter (born 1940 in Wernigerode/Harz), 1951 moved to West Berlin, 1956-58 apprenticeship as window dresser and poster painter, 1959-60 studied at the Meisterschule für Kunsthandwerk Berlin, 1960-66 at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste (HBK) Berlin under Karl Hartung, Bernhard Heiliger and Ulrich Knispel, 1964-66 master student of Prof. Hermann Bachmann, from 1966 onwards at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste (HBK) Berlin under Karl Hartung, Bernhard Heiliger and Ulrich Knispel. Hermann Bachmann, freelance from 1966, worked as a stage design assistant in Frankfurt am Main and Trier, 1967 Franz Roh Prize, from 1969 member of the artists' association "Edition Außenkunst", undertook numerous study trips, including to the USA, Canada, Greenland, Finland, Iceland, Paris and the South Seas, 1974-77 stay in Italy, from around 1969 also a sculptor, worked for the Rosenthal/Selb porcelain manufactory, among others, lives in Hamm/Norddinker, source: AKL and Internet.
