Erfurt faience jug dated 1749, reddish faience body, hand-thrown, old collection label on the base, cylindrical form, white glazed, manganese sponged and painted with colourful hot-fire colours, floral cartouche with bird motif, pewter mount consisting of lip rim and overlapping lid with large ball, handle also covered with pewter band, owner's monogram S.F.Ch., the base of the sphere cracked, the lip rim dented, the body in good condition for its age, h 27 cm.
