Mask of the Bamileke Cameroon grassland, 1st half of the 20th century, carved wood, raffia and cotton with sewn-on coloured glass beads, abstract elephant head, crowned by a sculptural wild cat, according to the grassland inhabitants, the animals stood in a hierarchical relationship to each other, comparable to the hierarchy in the human world, the elephant was related to the king, it was considered - together with the leopard and the python - as a symbolic animal of dominion, traces of age, minor loss of substance, h approx. 50 cm.
