Rare protective figure Bateba ti Bala, attributed to the Lobi ethnic group, Burkina Faso/Ghana/Côte d'Ivoire, probably 19th century, head stele of dark hardwood, male head with slightly stylised facial features and cap, mounted on a later base, traces of age, old anobia, h 45 cm. Provenance: P.
