Icon of the Resurrection of Christ. Moscow, early 20th century. Oklad and nimbus mounted in silver plate and engraved vermeil. On the back of the icon, two ink stamps "Стефанъ З. Щаклевъ / Иерусалимъ" (Stéphane Z. Chtchaklev / Jerusalem) and "Благословение отъ живоноснаго гроба и отъ горы Голгофы в Иерусалиме" (Blessing of the Life-bearing Tomb and Mount Golgotha in Jerusalem) with a dedication in Bulgarian: "I offered this icon as a souvenir to my wife Ekaterina Maximova in the city of Sofia. Comes from the city of Jerusalem. 23. IV. 1910", dedication signed ST. Z. Shchaklev. Hallmarks: 84, Moscow 1899-1908 and silversmith "М.К" (unidentified). 22.5 x 17.8 cm; gross weight: 399 g In a wood and gilded stucco frame, all in a wooden kiot. 33.5 x 29 cm The Chtchaklev family of Jerusalem is mentioned in a letter from the Bulgarian Patriarch Kyril dated April 1, 1962, in which he states that Chtchaklev has already been dead for 8 years.
