Jean Henri BENNER (1776-1836) Collection of twenty-four portraits of the Imperial Family, painted by H. Benner, who obtained permission from his MAJESTY THE EMPEROR to have these portraits engraved. Many of these portraits were engraved by André-Joseph MÉCOU (1770-1837). Other engravers also contributed to the work: Charles JOHANNOT (1789-1824), Antoine Jean Baptiste COUPÉ (1782-1865) and Friedrich JOHN (1769-1843). St. Petersburg: M. Saint-Florent, Libraire. In Moscow, at M. Rosenstrauch's, Magasin Cosmétique. [1817]. The engravings were printed in Paris by Chardon. Enclosed is the subscription list. 1 volume in folio. On the front flyleaf, a dedication "Offert à Madame Briand / par l'auteur / S-Pétersbourg le 6 may 1823".
