Each photograph is captioned at the foot of the plate (some captions are no longer legible). 12.2 x 16.8 cm (21.8 x 26.8 cm with mount) F. N. Gadayev had studios in Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk. He was the official photographer of the Caucasus spas. He is best known for this series of views of the Caucasus, of which he published an album in 1891.
