Watch ROLEX Oyster Perpetual Datejust Lady. Year 1994 - 1995. Model 69178 Serial No. W2655XX. In 18k yellow gold. Champagne colored dial with applied numerals and luminescent baton hands. Center second hand. Auxiliary calendar window with Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. Fluted bezel and fluted crown at 3 o'clock. President bracelet with hidden folding clasp in 18k gold. Automatic movement. The Datejust watch symbolizes the Rolex definition of classic elegance. Launched in 1945, it was the first chronometer, self-winding and water-resistant wristwatch to introduce the date in a window located at 3 o'clock. The magnifying glass effect of this Cyclops lens is a reminder that "24 hours not only constitute a day, but also mark a date to remember," says Rolex. Hans Wilsdorf, Rolex's founder, described it as a technical feat, going so far as to state in 1945 that the Datejust was "the heyday of watchmaking. It synthesizes every discovery made to date". A ladies' version, the Oyster Perpetual Lady Datejust, was launched in 1957. "As reliable as the Datejust, it concentrates all the attributes of the original model," says the brand.
