Louis Lagrange. Paris. 1st half of the 19th c. Bronze, with matte and polished gilding and partially with black patina. Rectangular, two-tiered stand on four paw feet. The front decorated with relief appliqués. On the postament-shaped case a bust of Henry IV of France with the inscription \"Il fut de ses sujets le vainqueur et le père\", a verse from Voltaire's \"Henriade\". To the right of the case, a winged Victoria holding a victor's wreath over the bust. Enamel dial with Roman numerals. Large 14-day pendulum movement with thread suspension and half-hour strike on bell. 25x61x82cm. On dial inscr. \"Lagrange à Paris\" (Louis Lagrange, Paris, Rue St-Martin, 1812).
