Félicie Faye Laure Briot de L." Surgeon Jean-Baptiste Simonin was founder of Nancy's Ecole Préparatoire de Surgery and the Société de Médecine. He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1839. This daguerreotype dates from the same period as an engraving, probably based on this daguerreotype.
